What’s the Opportunity?
Iconic Resourcing presents a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Assistant Manager (Corporate Tax Compliance) to join a successful tax team within one of the Big 4 Accountancy Practices.
Please note that this role can be either Glasgow based or undertaken as a remote worker.
The Corporate Tax Compliance Centre of Excellence (‘COE’) is a dynamic and successful area of the business within a constantly changing and increasingly high-profile field. You will have the opportunity to utilise and develop Corporate Tax compliance skills in an innovative and supportive environment.
Services are delivered by dedicated Corporate Tax compliance specialists using a cutting-edge technology platform which you will have the opportunity to develop as well as attending client demonstrations and contributing to other aspects of business development.
You will be able to demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and produce a first class product ready for issue to clients. This will involve working closely with tax professionals based in all of the firm’s UK offices and partners in other countries, to deliver a seamless service to a diverse range of clients (including mid-market to FTSE listed groups across public sector, real estate and financial services, for example).
Both full time and part time will be considered as well as flexible working arrangements which include, early or late starts to fit around other commitments, shorter working days etc.
How will you fit?
In order to take on this role, you will:
- Be ACCA/CTA/ATT qualified (or equivalent) or be qualified by experience
- Have experience of review of corporate tax computations and returns.
- Be able to identify and resolve technical issues, or escalate as appropriate.
- Have experience of specific technical areas including: complex capital versus revenue treatment; pension scheme and share scheme adjustments; group relief; basic transfer pricing; tax accounting for single entities and groups.
- Have an awareness (experience preferred) of technical areas including: controlled foreign companies and corporate interest restriction.
- Have strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
- Have excellent team work and organisational skills, including monitoring timetables and budgets.
- Be a proficient user of Alphatax (or similar)
You’ll add value to the team by:
- Maintaining a portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for ensuring their tax computations are prepared to a high standard, on a timely basis and finalised and submitted to HMRC within agreed deadlines.
- Working with the client directly to understand the requirements at the start of each compliance cycle including potential visits to clients/ local offices when appropriate.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues, preparing technical analysis and involving specialists as appropriate to prepare or review analysis.
- Tax accounting disclosures (FRS101, FRS102, IFRS)
- Identifying opportunities to identify additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialists.
- Coaching and technical support for other team members.
- Following company best practice and policy.
