What’s the Opportunity?
Iconic Resourcing presents a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Assistant Manager (Private Equity) to join a successful tax team within one of the Big 4 Accountancy Practices.
Please note that this role can be either Glasgow based or undertaken as a remote worker.
The Corporate Tax team (based in TL Managed Services) is an integral part of the firm’s overall offering to clients. As such, you will be working with clients of all sizes (from mid-market to FTSE listed groups) and across a diverse range of sectors.
You will be able to demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and produce a first class product ready for issue to clients. This will involve working closely with tax professionals based in all of the firm’s UK offices and partners in other countries, to deliver a seamless service to clients.
In addition to delivering corporate tax compliance services, you will have opportunities to be involved in the technology development and also to participate in client demonstrations and other aspects of business development.
Both full and part time working will be considered for this role as well as flexible working arrangements, including early or later starts, shorter working days etc.
How will you fit?
In order to take on this role, you will:
- Be ATT/CTA/ACA qualified (or equivalent) or qualified by experience
- Be able to demonstrate exceptional tax compliance skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and produce a first class product ready for issue to clients.
- Have experience of review of corporate tax computations and returns.
- Be able to identify and resolve technical issues, or escalate as appropriate.
- Have experience of specific technical areas including: complex capital versus revenue treatment; pension scheme and share scheme adjustments; group relief; basic transfer pricing; tax accounting for single entities and groups.
- Have an awareness (experience preferred) of technical areas including: controlled foreign companies and corporate interest restriction.
- Have strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.
- Have excellent team work and organisational skills, including monitoring timetables and budgets.
- Be a proficient user of Alphatax (or similar)
You’ll add value to the team by:
- Maintaining a portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for ensuring their tax computations are prepared to a high standard, on a timely basis and finalised and submitted to HMRC within agreed deadlines.
- Working with the client directly to understand the requirements at the start of each compliance cycle including potential visits to clients/ local offices when appropriate.
- Identifying and resolving technical issues, preparing technical analysis and involving specialists as appropriate to prepare or review analysis.
- Tax accounting disclosures (FRS101, FRS102, IFRS)
- Identifying opportunities to identify additional services that the client may need and liaise with subject specialists.
- Coaching and technical support for other team members.
- Following company best practice and policy.
