Iconic Resourcing presents a fantastic opportunity for an Assistant Manager/Manager/Senior Managers to join a successful tax team within one of the Big 4 Accountancy Practices.
Please note that these roles can be based in either Glasgow, Edinburgh or Aberdeen.
The Scotland Tax team works with a diverse range of clients across a variety of sectors. They provide value by managing and advising on UK corporation tax and international tax projects as part of multidisciplinary and multi-jurisdictional teams. They are able to provide advice and guidance on many complex issues including global tax strategy and structure, cross border financing, expanding into new markets (including the UK), tax reporting, cross-border M&A, and intra-group reorganisations.
If you are looking for a role at Manager level that includes working with a wide range of UK and international businesses of varying sizes then this could be for you. You will be managing an exciting portfolio of clients and a variety of UK corporation tax and international tax projects.
How will you fit?
In order to take on this role, you will:
- Be ACA, CA, ACCA or equivalent qualified (or qualified by corporate tax experience)
- Have UK corporation tax and international tax experience
- Have strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
- Have a high level of drive and enthusiasm and a positive attitude that translates across the team
- Be able to bring insight and effectively apply knowledge to business and client problems
- Have sounds judgement, including the ability to identify and evaluate risk issues and know when to involve others
- Have well-developed analytical skills and a commercial approach to resolving issues and providing advice
- Be able to multi-task and manage a range of clients, projects and relationships
- Have strong motivation to develop and coach junior team members
- Have the dedication to continuously develop technical knowledge
- Be inquisitive with attention to detail
You’ll add value to the team by:
- Managing the successful delivery of technically excellent advice including tax structuring, refinancing, legal structure optimisation, pre-post transaction reorganisations, tax authority enquiries, tax reporting and providing technical support to the wider tax team
- Managing UK and cross border teams on advisory projects, liaising with specialists, overseas member firms and external advisers, to deliver successful projects and expertise to our clients
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and understanding their business in order to build your own external network and create opportunities to help with the provision of tax and other services
- Seeking out and pursuing opportunities with targets and actively participating with Directors and Partners in business development activities
- Managing proposals for new work, including delivering tender documents, presenting at client pitches, and identifying solutions for client issues
- Managing aspects of the team’s operations and performance, including resourcing and coaching and developing junior team members
- Being a role model for the firm’s values
