Tax Manager - Corporate Tax Advisory (Scotland) - Glasgow

What’s the Opportunity?

Iconic Resourcing presents a fantastic opportunity for a Tax Manager to join a successful Corporate Tax Advisory Team within one of the Big 4 Accountancy Practices.

The firm works with clients from small start-ups and individuals to major multinationals across a variety of industries. This role will focus on opportunities in Scotland.

If you are seeking a dynamic working environment within a strong supportive team where there are excellent promotion opportunities, then this role could be for you.

You will be interacting with multiple external senior stakeholders, including shareholders, company directors, CFO’s and high net worth individuals and will cover a wide range of services, from specialist tax advisory to tax accounting. You will fill a key role within the team and will report to the Tax Leadership.

There will be scope to work flexibly and in a hybrid model with the role being either Edinburgh or Glasgow based however, some regional and national travel to client sites or other offices may be required.

 

How will you fit?

In order to take on this role, you will:

  • Be CTA/ACA/CA qualified or equivalent
  • Have strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills
  • Have a commercial and practical mindset
  • Have Corporate Tax experience
  • Have a track record of relationship building and business development
  • Sustain a high level of energy, show enthusiasm and a positive attitude that translates across the team
  • Display an inclusive, collaborative approach and operate in a respectful manner with colleagues, clients and the wider community
  • Bring insight and effectively apply knowledge to business and client problems
  • Communicate with impact, in a way that is open, honest, consistent and clear
  • Build the reputation of the firm through the quality of work, knowledge and experience

 

You’ll add value to the team by:

  • Providing tax advisory services to a variety of clients and managing the successful delivery of commercially viable and technically excellent advice involving tax due diligence, structuring, international and other advisory work
  • Liaising with specialists in Indirect Tax, People Services, Stamp Taxes and overseas company offices to manage their input into tax advisory projects
  • Managing the compliance process for clients, including liaising with the dedicated Tax Centre of Excellence
  • Liaising with other service lines such as Advisory, Deals and Audit to ensure co-ordinated service to the client
  • Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and identifying leads for new work
  • Ensuring clients are kept up to date on developments within the corporate tax world that may affect their business
  • Seeking out and pursuing business development opportunities with clients and targets and participating with Senior Managers/Directors/Partners in business development activities
  • Helping to prepare proposals for new work, including researching target and client companies and on technical issues to identify new solutions/products
  • Being market-facing to create and maintain relationships and increase the company brand in the North East of Scotland
  • Attending and hosting at client seminars and events
  • Managing teams and coaching and developing junior members of staff both in respect of technical delivery, soft skills and business development
  • Keeping internal control records up to date and ensuring compliance with quality control procedures
  • Managing client financials
  • Leading by example with client relationships, technical quality and service delivery
