Most transaction services roles promise exposure to deals. Fewer offer the chance to genuinely shape them, working directly with senior leadership, influencing commercial outcomes, building client relationships, and developing into a well-rounded advisory leader.
If you feel you have become over-specialised in due diligence execution, limited in your client exposure, or frustrated by the lack of visibility at senior level, this could be the opportunity that moves your career into its next phase.
Our client is a leading UK business advisory firm looking to appoint a highly capable and ambitious Associate Director to join its growing team in London. This is a role that goes beyond traditional transaction services delivery. You will be part of a fast-paced, high-performing team advising on complex buy-side and sell-side mandates, while also building the commercial and leadership skills needed to progress toward Director level and beyond.
Unlike more hierarchical environments where client ownership sits firmly at Partner level, this role offers genuine visibility, autonomy on engagements, and the opportunity to develop into a trusted adviser to both clients and senior stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
You will work closely with senior leadership within the Financial Advisory team, taking responsibility for leading financial due diligence and transaction services engagements across a broad range of clients and sectors.
The work will focus heavily on buy-side and sell-side mandates, supporting clients through acquisitions, disposals, and wider strategic transactions. You will not only deliver high-quality analysis, but also interpret financial data, identify key commercial issues, and provide clear, practical insight that supports decision-making.
This is not a pure execution role. You will be expected to take ownership of engagements, lead client interactions, and play an active role in shaping the advice delivered.
Alongside deal delivery, you will manage and develop junior team members, working closely with senior leadership to ensure high-quality output and strong team performance. As you progress, you will also become increasingly involved in business development activity, leveraging both internal and external networks to support the growth of the practice.
What You’ll Need
• ACA qualified or equivalent
• Strong background in transaction services or financial due diligence within UK accountancy or advisory practice
• Solid experience leading buy-side and or sell-side engagements
• Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
• Ability to interpret complex financial data and translate it into commercial insight
• Confident communicator with strong client-facing presence
• Experience managing or mentoring junior team members
• Proactive, commercially minded approach with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced deal environment
• Ambition to develop into a senior leadership role within advisory
